Machine Builder (Custom Equipment)

What You'll Do

• Build custom machines and subassemblies from the ground up using detailed engineering prints
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and layouts to guide your work
• Assemble and align mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Troubleshoot and solve real-world build challengesno two projects are the same
• Fabricate parts using mills, lathes, saws, and other shop equipment
• Perform basic welding to support builds when needed
• Verify tolerances and ensure each machine meets precision specifications
• Collaborate with a skilled team to deliver high-quality, on-schedule builds

What You Bring

• Strong ability to read blueprints and schematics
• Hands-on experience in machine assembly, mechanical work, or manufacturing
• Comfort using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical systems
• Solid mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship

Bonus Experience (Nice to Have)

• Custom machine building
• Welding / fabrication
• Hydraulics & pneumatics
• General mechanical repair or maintenance
• Forklift operation
• 2-year technical degree

Job Type & Location: This is a permanent position based out of Saint Paul, MN.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $29.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
