A Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders. The role involves developing individualized care plans, delivering evidence-based interventions, and coordinating care with healthcare teams to enhance patient outcomes. Responsibilities:
- Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing impairments.
- Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practices to inform clinical interventions.
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans accordingly, and document outcomes in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Provide education and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers regarding speech and swallowing disorders.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to communicate patient status, treatment plans, and discharge recommendations.
- Maintain accurate, complete documentation of services, treatment minutes, and discharge summaries in electronic health records.
- Hold active licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Oklahoma.
- Possess CCC certification from ASHA and meet state licensure requirements.
- Have at least 1 year of SLP experience, preferably in LTC or rehab settings.
- Be capable of supervising CFY or student speech-language pathologists.
- Demonstrate adherence to ASHA and state practice acts, ethics, and conduct standards.
- New graduates with Level II experience are welcome to apply.
