CB Mining is an independent family-owned corporation that is growing. Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Washington, PA, CB Mining focuses on product support for Longwall mines. Established from part of the Caterpillar mining group, CB Mining has grown from 2 locations in Washington, PA to now 4 locations, with additions in Marion, IL and Tuscaloosa, AL. We provide customers with rebuild services, CST gearbox rebuilds, welding and fabrications services, service exchange units, custom made cabling solutions, life cycle services including oil sampling and vibration analysis, robust inventory support, compatibility services and underground technical support. We also provide extensive machining, chroming, laser cladding, and hydraulic repairs through our valued partner Cleveland Brothers. • Computer skills required: Understanding of Microsoft word, excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to communicate effectively, write technical work and repair procedures.

Primary Responsibilities

• Ability to read and understand schematics both electrical and hydraulic.
• Ability to read and use a multimeter and tape measures
• Ability to solder and desolder
• Ability to use basic hand tools, power tools, and sandblaster
• Ability to communicate with supervisor
• Ability to create parts lists based on reuse and salvage guidelines.
• Analyze results of the tests to locate and determine the cause of the malfunction.
• Studies the inter-relation of the various controlling circuits and plans tests for the individual control circuits and components.
• Conducts a series of involved functional and operational tests on components.
• Troubleshoot and repair a variety of multi-purpose electronic and/or electro-hydraulic control systems for underground mining equipment.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed

Physical Ability

As a Shop Technician you are required to work in an industrial environment which includes exposure to significant environmental conditions. Physical requirements include:

• Overall stamina, standing on your feet for 10 hours
• Sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling, and/or pushing
• Carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, crouching, listening, and speaking
• Must have good motor coordination skills, coordination of eyes, hands, feet
• The workplace environmental conditions include subject to noise, heat, cold, injury exposures, and atmospheric exposures
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Education/Experience:

• Trade school, Military or experience acceptable to the company

It started with 89 employees and 1 location, that historically focused on customer support, underground Technical Service Reps, Longwall AFC, BSL, and Crusher rebuilds. Today we have 2 locations in Washington, PA, Marion, IL, and Tuscaloosa, AL where we continue the legacy on superb customer support for both Longwall and R &P underground mining.
