Provider Supports Specialist (PPM II)

The Adult Services Division (ASD) is seeking qualified internal candidates for a Special Duty Assignment (SDA) opportunity to establish and support a new Provider Supports Team within the Community Investments and Provider Supports (CIPS) section. The Provider Supports Team will serve as ASD's centralized resource for provider capacity building, technical assistance coordination, language access administration, provider learning and development, and provider readiness initiatives for the division. The team will play a key role in strengthening the Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services Levy (VSHSL) provider network and advancing equitable access to County funding opportunities. The Provider Supports Specialist reports to the Provider Supports Lead and provides programmatic, operational, and administrative leadership for several provider-facing initiatives within the Community Investments and Provider Supports section. The Specialist coordinates day-to-day administration of the Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services Levy (VSHSL) Technical Assistance and Capacity Building (TACB) program, Language Access program, provider training activities, and provider engagement initiatives. The position also supports planning and development of the VSHSL Provider Academy Pilot Program and assists with implementation activities supporting the SS7 Countywide Nonprofit Workforce Survey strategy. This position regularly works with community-based organizations, technical assistance providers, consultants, language access vendors, procurement staff, contract managers, fiscal staff, and division leadership to strengthen provider capacity and improve provider access to County resources. The ideal candidate is highly organized, enjoys managing multiple projects simultaneously, excels at building collaborative relationships, and is passionate about supporting nonprofit organizations that serve King County communities.

Job Duties Technical Assistance and Capacity Building (TACB) Program Coordination (30%) Responsibilities Include: Coordinate day-to-day administration of TACB grants and contracted technical assistance resources. Maintain inventories of approved technical assistance providers, consultants, and subject matter experts. Assist with identifying, vetting, onboarding, and monitoring technical assistance contractors. Coordinate referrals and facilitate connections between VSHSL providers and TACB contractors. Track provider utilization, contractor performance, expenditures, and outcomes. Collect provider feedback and recommend improvements that strengthen the effectiveness of TACB investments. Maintain program documentation, tracking systems, and administrative records. Provider Training, Learning, and Engagement (25%) Responsibilities Include: Coordinate provider trainings, webinars, workshops, communities of practice, and learning events. Manage event planning, scheduling, registration, communications, and logistics. Develop and distribute provider-facing educational materials and resources. Coordinate presenters, facilitators, and subject matter experts. Support evaluation of learning activities and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Assist with provider outreach and ongoing engagement activities. Language Access Program Administration (20%) Responsibilities Include: Coordinate provider requests for interpretation and translation services. Serve as the primary liaison between providers and contracted language access vendors. Track requests, expenditures, utilization, and service delivery. Monitor invoices and administrative documentation. Develop provider guidance and resource materials related to language access services. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accessibility, and provider awareness of available resources. Provider Academy Planning and Development Support (15%) Responsibilities Include: Assist the Provider Supports Lead and Chief of Community Investments and Provider Supports with planning and development activities. Conduct research regarding provider readiness, nonprofit capacity building, and organizational development models. Assist with drafting the Provider Academy proposal. Support development of curriculum materials, participant resources, recruitment materials, and application processes. Assist with developing participant tracking systems, evaluation tools, and reporting mechanisms. Coordinate planning meetings and stakeholder engagement activities. Workforce Strategy and Program Administration (10%) Responsibilities Include: Coordinate implementation activities assigned to ASD supporting the SS7 Countywide Nonprofit Workforce Survey strategy. Maintain project plans, work trackers, performance measures, and administrative records. Prepare reports, briefing materials, meeting summaries, and presentations. Coordinate meetings with partner organizations and internal stakeholders. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned. Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills A bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Human Services, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Communications, or a related field, and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to be successful. Three years of progressively responsible experience supporting one or more of the following: Local non-profit or human services Program coordination People-based Project management Community engagement Human services administration Provider support Contract administration Organizational development Training coordination Desired Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills Experience coordinating multiple projects simultaneously. Experience organizing trainings, workshops, conferences, or learning events. Knowledge of nonprofit organizations and the human services sector. Experience working with community-based organizations. Experience coordinating contracts, consultants, or vendor relationships. Familiarity with technical assistance, organizational development, or capacity-building initiatives. Knowledge of language access principles and culturally responsive service delivery. Strong organizational and project management skills. Ability to prioritize competing assignments and meet deadlines. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong customer service orientation and relationship-building skills. Ability to analyze information and recommend process improvements.
