Our RDHs enjoy:$2,500 SIGN-ON BONUSMonthly productivity incentive bonusesFlexible schedules (including 4-day workweeks and school hours if preferred)Dedicated administrative time may be incorporated into the work schedule based on assigned patient-facing hours, FTE, operational needs, and departmental standardsPSLF-eligible employment and potential eligibility for NHSC student loan repayment, subject to applicable program requirementsEligible benefits based on employment status and plan requirements, which may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, holidays, and wellness supportJoin us and help redefine access to care—where prevention starts with you.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide preventive and rehabilitative caries control and periodontal services, including:Routine prophylaxis and topical applicationApply SDF as neededUse ART technique to place interim restorations as neededScaling and root planingRemove overhangs of filling materialsProperly expose, process, and mount oral radiographsPolish restorationsUse local anesthetic for procedures as needed and within scope of practicePromote an atmosphere of good dental and general health by demonstrating good personal oral hygiene.Educate patients on techniques of flossing, brushing, overall oral health, and the role of the dental care team.Clean and sterilize instruments appropriately and follow infection control protocols and standard operating procedures.Complete required daily, monthly, and annual equipment maintenance.Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).Perform applicable lab duties, including pouring and trimming models and fabricating trays.Remove biohazard trash as needed in accordance with established procedures.Answer patient inquiries related to pain and/or medications within scope and established protocols.Perform all duties in accordance with OSHA regulations and remain attentive to patient needs.Use appropriate safety precautions to protect patients and self while completing clinical charting and care.Clinical assessment and charting responsibilities include:Document existing caries and restorations, missing teeth, and prostheses.Complete periodontal assessments including probing depths, recession, mobility, and furcation involvement.Complete head and neck examinations, including identification/documentation of soft tissue pathology.Properly make oral radiographs and take necessary precautions to minimize unnecessary radiation exposure.Patient and community education responsibilities include:Educate patients on oral health maintenance and prevention, including brushing, flossing, plaque control, and diet.Educate patients or guardians on the benefits of fluoride.Participate in professional training from internal and external sources to strengthen skills and support integration of dental services in the primary care setting.Attend meetings as required, including Joint Staff and department meetings.Complete assigned trainings in a timely manner.Rotate to Medical Clinic settings to support medical/dental integration.Empower medical teams to deliver dental screenings to medical patients. Establish team relationships and coordinate bi-directional warm handoffs to and from specialty dental according to established protocols.Maintain established productivity expectations during scheduled patient-facing hours, with a goal of treating no less than one patient per patient-facing hour in the clinic setting and no less than two patients per patient-facing hour in the community-based care setting. Designated administrative time is excluded from patient-facing productivity calculations.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Graduate of a certified Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) program.Current Kansas RDH license required.Minimum of one year of experience preferred.Current CPR certification required and must be maintained.Demonstrated sensitivity to the social and cultural needs of diverse populations.Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks to deliver efficient, high-quality patient care.Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment in emergency or high-pressure situations.Strong knowledge of HIPAA privacy regulations and ability to follow written policies and procedures.Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, databases, electronic health records, and standard office equipment.Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and adapt to fast-paced, changing environments.Demonstrates professionalism, punctuality, and respectful working relationships with patients, coworkers, and the public.Provides outstanding customer service, including during challenging interactions.Willingness to educate patients and the community about oral health and the role of the dental care team.Ability to accurately document procedures and data in electronic health records.Comfortable analyzing statistics or data and making appropriate recommendations.Must be able to operate a company vehicle and maintain it in good condition when required by assignment.Work Environment and Physical RequirementsFrequent walking, standing, and sitting throughout the day.Repetitive physical and mental tasks required.Regular use of hands to handle, control, or operate tools and equipment.Frequent bending, twisting, lifting, and carrying of equipment—up to 100 lbs.Responsible for loading and unloading equipment as needed.Job tasks are performed in close physical proximity to others.Work is conducted primarily indoors in climate-controlled settings and may occasionally occur outdoors or in community-based settings.Must be able to manage frequent interruptions and function effectively in high-stress or emergency situations.Exposure to infection, contagious diseases, and unpleasant or potentially hazardous patient or unit conditions.May involve interactions with individuals who are angry, upset, or in distress; must be able to navigate conflict professionally and with composure.
