The position focuses on building and managing relationships with delegated authority wholesale agents.The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience as a commercial P&C underwriter, including successfully managing and growing a book of business valued at $5–10 million in written premium. Experience with Excess & Surplus Lines is strongly preferred.This role works a hybrid schedule that requires working from the office Monday through Wednesday, with the option of working Thursday and Friday remotely.**Responsibilities:*** You will evaluate information to determine risk acceptability in accordance with company guidelines.* Makes appropriate decisions based on evaluation of underwriting information.* Conducting marketing agency visits with our wholesale partners at least twice a year* Performs active agency management of their assigned territory* Effectively communicates and negotiates underwriting and pricing decisions to achieve optimal outcomes.* Acts with a sense of urgency on all inquiries/requests.* Provides outstanding customer service.* Builds effective working relationships with assigned agency personnel as well as internal company staff.* Drives acceptable levels of new business opportunities through effective marketing to assigned agents.* Completes file audits within company guidelines to ensure compliance to underwriting and pricing standards where agents are delegated underwriting authority.* Attends agency conferences and conducts seminars and breakout sessions.* Participates and leads special projects as assigned.* Handles a moderate number of agency assignments.* Participates in annual planning meetings with assigned agents.* Perform other duties as needed**Qualifications:****Must-Have:*** Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of commercial Property and Casualty underwriting experience or equivalent.* Equivalent experience defined as 6+ years as a P&C Underwriter in lieu of a bachelor’s degree* Experience with non-admitted and/or Excess & Surplus (E&S) lines underwriting* Agency Management experience.* To qualify, applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require VISA sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment purposes.**Preferred to Have:*** Contract Binding experienceAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
