Locum MD (Medical Doctor), DO (Osteopathic Doctor) General Surgery

 This on-site contract position offers a unique opportunity to provide high-quality surgical care in a collaborative environment within the Medical Practice industry.

As a Locum General Surgeon, you will be instrumental in delivering comprehensive surgical services, ensuring patient safety and satisfaction. Your role will involve working closely with a skilled team to address a variety of surgical needs, enhancing patient outcomes through effective interventions and follow-ups.

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of surgical procedures in accordance with established protocols
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative care for patients
• Collaborate with nursing and support staff to ensure quality patient care
• Conduct patient consultations to assess surgical needs
• Document all patient interactions accurately and timely
• Stay updated on surgical best practices and technological advancements
• Participate in team meetings to discuss cases and treatment strategies
• Foster a positive and professional relationship with patients and their families

Requirements

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical institution
• Associate-level experience in General Surgery
• Active medical license in the state of practice
• Strong surgical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Adept at working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to providing patient-centered care
• Emergency response and critical care experience is a plus

Level III Tramua Center

Schedule: 24-hour call shifts specific dates

Duties: Provide ED and inpatient coverage, address practice-related clinical needs, and perform trauma and general surgery procedures

Required Procedures: Basic call and trauma cases

Support Staff: RNs & OR staff

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified

ATLS & BLS required

DEA preferred

Paid travel & expenses
