Primary Care Physician - St. Cloud, MN

Job Title: Primary Care Physician - Internal Medicine/Family Medicine


No. of Positions Required: 4 Physicians

• 2 - St. Cloud VAMC
• 1 - Brainerd CBOC
• 1 - Montevideo CBOC

Specialty: Internal Medicine or Family Medicine


Place of Work: St. Cloud, Brainerd, and Montevideo, Minnesota


Duration: 1-year base period plus 2 option years


Start Date: September 1, 2026


Shift Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM; federal holidays off


Shifts per Month: Approximately 20-22 shifts per physician


License: Current, full, and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory


Certifications:

• Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• BLS
• ACLS
• DEA
• NPI

Experience Needed: Accredited residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine; relevant outpatient primary care experience


Special Skills Needed:

• Chronic and acute care management
• Preventive care
• EHR/CPRS documentation
• Patient education and care coordination
• Fluent English communication

Credentialing / Onboarding Time: 6-8 weeks


Responsibilities:

• Provide outpatient primary care to veterans
• Manage acute and chronic conditions
• Perform physicals, screenings, and preventive care
• Order tests and prescribe medications
• Document care in the VA electronic health record
• Coordinate referrals and follow-up care
• Participate in quality and patient-safety activities

Misc:

• Fully onsite position
• Average of 12 patients per day
• Approximately 80% patient care and 20% administrative duties
• VA background check, credentialing, training, immunizations, and orientation required
