Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist - Pediatrics with at least 1 year of outpatient pediatric rehab experience for a day-shift assignment.

Details

• Outpatient pediatric rehabilitation clinic setting
• Common conditions treated include balance and coordination disorders, genetic and neuromuscular disorders, gross motor incoordination, in-toeing, orthopedic injuries, toe walking, torticollis, and scoliosis
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:15 AM to 5:00 PM
• No call or weekend requirements
• May float to other departments only during low census in home department
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in an outpatient pediatric rehab setting required
• BLS certification required
• Prior travel experience required
• Valid Michigan PT license required if applicable
• Skills required include assessment, adaptive devices, AROM/AAROM/PROM, assistive devices, body mechanics, pain assessment, sensory response, strength testing, and vital sign monitoring
• Pediatric-specific skills required including cerebral palsy, developmental delays, orthotics, spina bifida, and torticollis management
• Experience with early intervention programs and scoliosis treatment preferred
• Documentation skills required including evaluations, long-term goals, plans of care, and reassessments
• Knowledge of modalities such as E-stim and TENS
• Supervisor-level professional reference required
• Proof of flu vaccination required, with exemption requests submitted within 48 hours of signing

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient assessment, individualized treatment planning, milestone assessment, and family education
• Focus on home exercise programs, safety, and injury prevention education
• Knowledge of signs and symptoms of physical, sexual, and psychological abuse required
• Familiarity with commercial and Medicaid billing practices
• Travelers are prioritized for floating assignments when needed
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restrictions
• RTO limited to no more than 10 days during assignment
• Previous internal travelers may return after 6 months; previous permanent staff may return after 1 year
• Annual self-reported training modules completed during orientation
