We are looking for a full‑time Certified Orthopedic Technologist or Medical Assistant to be based at the outpatient clinic in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service and communication skills. The Orthopedic Technician is responsible for providing assistance to patients and clinical staff in the full scope of orthopedic services. Duties involve casting, splinting, dressing changes, and phlebotomy. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Apply, remove, and/or assist with casts, splints, and dressings as ordered by the physician. Remove staples, sutures, and external fixation devices; assist with the collection of specimens, including venipuncture and culture & sensitivity, and prepare specimens for processing. Prepare and fit all types of orthopedic bracing devices and DME. Instruct patients regarding care of casts, splints, dressings, and DME. Perform wound care as directed by the physician. Adjust crutches and canes to fit patients. Assist front desk with rooming patients on slow cast‑room days. Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations. Instruct patients in care and assist them in walking with casts, braces, and crutches. Order supplies and maintain supply inventory. Create purchase orders for purchasing. Ensure rooms are cleaned between patients and that rooms are cleaned and stocked at the end of the day. Travel may be required to any of the seven MOR clinic locations. Other duties as assigned. Education and Experience High school diploma or General Education Development (GED). One or more years of orthopedic or general healthcare experience. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Certified Orthopedic Technologist. Certified Medical Assistant. Compensation and Benefits Pay Range: $22.00 – $27.00 per hour. Compensation at MOR is determined by many factors, which may include but are not limited to job‑related skills, level of experience, education, certifications, geographic location, market data, and internal equity.
