Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Pharmacy professional is needed for a Contract to Hire position supporting a Long-Term Care (LTC) and Mail Order pharmacy environment in Boyertown, PA. This role offers a daytime schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, over a 26-week period with the potential to become permanent.
Responsibilities include accurately accepting and dispensing prescription medications while monitoring patient compliance and ensuring medication supplies adhere to legal standards. The pharmacist will assess prescriptions to verify their appropriateness for patients and maintain confidential patient records with meticulous attention to detail. Providing patient consultations on medication usage, side effects, and drug interactions is essential. Additional duties involve educating patients on medical device operation, offering clinical services such as smoking cessation programs, blood pressure, and cholesterol management, as well as compounding medications for various uses.
Supervisory responsibilities include overseeing pharmacy technicians and clerks. The pharmacist will also manage pharmaceutical inventory and collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to address drug-related issues and optimize patient care.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Long-Term Care or Mail Order pharmacy settings
- Valid Pennsylvania Pharmacy License
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations and medication management
- Excellent communication and patient counseling skills
- Ability to supervise pharmacy staff effectively
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- 26-week assignment with a temp-to-direct hire opportunity
