HR GENERALIST

Join a group of passionate advocates on our mission to improve the lives of youth! Rite of Passage Team is hiring for a Human Resources Generalist at Lava Heights Academy in Toquerville, Utah . Lava Heights Academy is a residential treatment program that provides a safe, supportive and nurturing environment for vulnerable young women who are referred from juvenile courts and social service agencies both locally and across the country. The youth enter the program with a history of abuse, neglect, trauma, substance abuse, mental illness and violence. They graduate from Falcon Ridge Ranch as educated young women who have overcome challenges and have demonstrated making healthy choices for themselves and for their future. Pay: $52,000 per year, depending on experience. What you will do: Administer human resources plans and procedures for all site personnel across three campuses in Toquerville, Virgin, and Brigham City, Utah. Assist in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures. Conduct recruiting efforts, prepare and place advertisements, coordinate and participate in job fairs, and identify qualified applicants using internal and external recruiting systems. Assist department supervisors in screening and selection of candidates. Plan and implement onboarding activities, including coordinating New Hire Orientation with the Site Trainer, building and maintaining electronic and paper files, submitting background check applications, monitoring employee background status, and managing the HRIS. Oversee the performance evaluation system; ensure 90-day and annual evaluations are completed, disciplinary actions are conducted fairly and in accordance with policy, and investigations are conducted impartially. Monitor timesheet management done by department heads, ensuring all timesheets are correct and submitted on time. Respond and assist with all pay concerns and inquiries. Maintain employee files in accordance with company policy and state licensing requirements. Assist Site Trainer with training management when required. To be considered you should: Be at least 21 years of age. Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, business or a related field (Master’s Degree and/or Professional HR Certification preferred). Have at least 2 years of Human Resources Experience, including employee relations, training and recruiting. Have knowledge of Federal and State employment law, HR policies and practices, and state licensing requirements. Have successful management experience. Have good interpersonal skills and the ability to interview potential employees. Be an eligible ROP driver: possess a current State Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record for the past three years. Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, TB test, and child abuse registry search.
