Reports To: Production Supervisor
Work Authorization: Due to ITAR compliance requirements, applicants must be U.S. Citizens.

Shift: 1st or 2nd available

Pay: $16.50 - $30 HR depending on experience and shift

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Test Operator to join our manufacturing team in Erie, PA. In this role, you will support the assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and validation of electronic products throughout their lifecycle, from New Product Introduction (NPI) through End of Life (EOL).

The Test Operator is responsible for executing test procedures, documenting results, identifying defects, and supporting Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities. This position requires strong technical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment supporting customers in highly regulated industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily activities with a small production team to support manufacturing priorities and schedules.
• Identify, communicate, and escalate risks, issues, and production obstacles that may impact delivery commitments.
• Set up, maintain, and validate test equipment and test environments throughout the product lifecycle.
• Execute Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) and other production testing activities in accordance with work instructions and customer requirements.
• Troubleshoot product failures and test anomalies to determine root causes related to manufacturing, testing, or product design.
• Participate in and support Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations.
• Perform routine inspections and verification activities on tools, fixtures, test setups, and production equipment to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Document test results, product performance data, and quality records in accordance with manufacturing routers and End Item Data Packets (EIDP).
• Assemble electronic products and components using work instructions, parts lists, schematics, engineering drawings, and verbal instructions.
• Perform soldering and de-soldering activities as required to support assembly, rework, repair, and troubleshooting efforts.
• Work across multiple workstations and production areas based on operational requirements.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while following all company policies and procedures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product quality, testing processes, and manufacturing efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and computer skills.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, routers, test procedures, schematics, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
• Ability to document findings accurately and communicate technical information effectively.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen to comply with ITAR requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electronics Technology or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5 to 10+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing, testing, troubleshooting, or related technical environments.
• IPC J-STD-001 Certification, including the Space Addendum module.
• Experience performing acceptance testing, environmental testing, or production-level electronic testing.
• Knowledge of manufacturing documentation, RCCA methodologies, and quality management systems.
• Experience working with military, aerospace, communications, or medical electronic products.
• Ability to diagnose manufacturing, design, and test-related defects using advanced troubleshooting techniques.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Ability to work with small electronic components requiring fine motor skills and manual dexterity.
• Ability to lift and move materials and equipment in accordance with company policies.
• Visual acuity sufficient to inspect components, assemblies, and test results.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to electronic testing equipment and production machinery.
