Finance Risk Manager

Role Description

At EMCD, we're looking for a Finance Risk Manager to help strengthen our financial risk management framework and support the company's sustainable growth. In this role, you'll assess the company's financial resilience, evaluate risks across corporate assets, new products, strategic initiatives, and external partners, and provide data-driven insights that support key business decisions. You'll play a central role in developing risk management practices while working closely with Treasury, Finance, Product, Information Security, Compliance, and business leadership.

What you'll be doing

• Conduct stress testing of corporate assets, assess financial resilience, and prepare regular financial risk reports for management.
• Analyze market, FX, liquidity, concentration, and counterparty risks affecting the company's financial position.
• Support the development and ongoing monitoring of the company's hedging strategy by evaluating market exposure and hedging effectiveness against approved objectives and risk limits.
• Monitor compliance with approved financial risk limits and assess the company's overall financial exposure.
• Evaluate financial risks related to new products, business initiatives, and strategic decisions using quantitative and scenario analysis, providing recommendations to support informed decision-making.
• Assess financial risks when onboarding new counterparties, payment providers, partners, and third-party service providers, including potential financial losses, concentration risk, operational impact, and legal or compliance-related exposure.
• Design, implement, and continuously improve financial risk frameworks, policies, methodologies, risk limits, escalation procedures, and internal controls.
• Recommend measures to reduce financial risks and improve the company's overall financial resilience.
• Participate in the oversight of critical financial operations, including transaction approval workflows, multisignature (multisig) controls, and segregation of duties.
• Maintain the company's financial risk register, track mitigation plans and risk ownership, monitor implementation progress, and escalate material risks when necessary.
• Investigate significant financial incidents and losses, identify root causes, and recommend improvements to risk policies and control processes.
• Prepare analytical reports and present risk assessments and recommendations to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Financial Risk Management.
• Experience in FinTech, cryptocurrency, digital assets, trading, capital markets, or other financial services environments.
• Hands-on experience with stress testing, scenario analysis, and quantitative financial risk assessment.
• Strong understanding of market, foreign exchange, liquidity, concentration, and counterparty risk management.
• Solid knowledge of hedging strategies, derivatives, market exposure management, and methods for evaluating hedging effectiveness.
• Experience developing or maintaining risk policies, frameworks, limits, and control procedures.
• Good understanding of cryptocurrency markets, digital assets, and modern financial infrastructure.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate complex business problems and provide practical, risk-based recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex topics clearly to stakeholders.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.

Nice to have

• Experience partnering with Treasury teams or managing corporate assets, investment portfolios, or market risk hedging programs.
• Understanding of digital asset custody, wallet infrastructure, custodial solutions, and multisignature (multisig) security models.
• Professional certifications such as FRM, PRM, CFA, or equivalent.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth technology or startup environment.
