Responsibilities Assist nurses by performing various basic care activities related to services essential to caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. Dress, groom, bathe, feed, answer call lights, assist in toileting, oral care, nail care, catheter care, assist patients in wheelchairs, transport, turn bedridden patients, report patient changes, and dispose of trash. Must have certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant; mandatory compliance with Standards of Practice. Provide simple or uncomplicated patient care. Clean rooms and change bed linens. Takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration rate. Administer medication as directed by Physician or Nurse and document dosage and time given. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old. Must hold a valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record as defined by agency policy. Must hold mandatory certification as mandated by state licensure (CNA or Home Health Care Aide). Must have completed a recognized home care aide training program or have at least 6 months of recent experience as an aide. Must be able to utilize proper body mechanics while lifting, may be expected to lift up to 75 lbs.; must be able to sit, stand, walk for periods of time, bend, stoop, push, pull, and reach.
