Full time/part time positions available - all shifts. The Patient Care Technician (PCT) performs patient care tasks and duties which do not require a license. The PCT is a trained member of the unit based team who supports the on-going delivery of care as identified by the multidisciplinary patient management team in F9 ENT/Ortho Surgical Specialties Unit. F9 ENT/Ortho Surgical Specialties Unit 30-bed unit provides care to adult and adolescent patients with surgical conditions. Orthopedic procedures include digit and limb re-implantation, joint replacement, re-constructive surgery, the latest in internal and external fixation of fractures.Required:High School Diploma/GED, successful completion of patient care technician course within 3 months of hire.Must have excellent communication skills, ability to follow oral instructions, basic computer skills, strong work ethics and accountability.Must be able to lift 100 lbs. to waist height.Preferred:Certification as a nursing assistant or military corpsman.Patient care experience in acute care setting.The Patient Care Technician (PCT) works under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse(s) and performs tasks and duties which do not require a license, professional judgment or intervention. The PCT must pass the required competencies. The PCT works within the Department of Nursing standards.
