2026-2027 Receptionist (190 Days)

Campus Receptionist

Under the direction of the Accountability Director, the campus receptionist will provide reception and clerical assistance for the efficient operation of the campus office.

Education/Certification:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Completion of the state-required fingerprinting and criminal background check is required.

Experience:

  • Three (3) years' clerical experience in office setting.
  • Ability to work with school and community populations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with individuals from a variety of backgrounds including, but not limited to, parents, teachers, school administrators, and advocacy groups.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Proficient keyboarding skills.
  • Effective organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to operate multi-line phone system.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Google Suite.
  • Ability to learn the basic use of Student Information Systems (SIS) such as PowerSchool, Toddle, etc.

Performance Responsibilities:

Reception and Phones:

  • Receive and direct incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.
  • Greet and direct campus visitors in a highly visible environment. Maintain visitor log and issue visitor passes.
  • Provide top-tier customer service to all school visitors and staff.
  • Assist parents in checking students in and out of school.
  • Prepare and distribute student identification cards.
  • Assist with the receipt and distribution of student materials, including delivering lunches, student uniforms, homework, etc.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute mail, messages, documents, and other deliveries.

Other Duties:

  • Provide clerical assistance as needed including assisting with the scheduling of appointments.
  • Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Evaluation:

Performance of this job will be evaluated at least annually by the Accountability Director.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Tools/Equipment Used: Multi-line phone system; personal computer and peripherals, standard instructional equipment.

Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting.

Motion: Frequent walking; repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding, and use of mouse; occasional reaching.

Lifting: Regular moderate lifting and carrying (less than 20 pounds).

Environment: Work inside, may work outside.

Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress; may work prolonged or irregular hours.
