Description

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) with 3+ years of experience for a night shift assignment caring for medically complex pediatric patients.

Details

• Pediatric Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics unit setting
• Patient population includes cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, birth injury, motor vehicle accident trauma, SMA, Trisomy 21, and Rett syndrome cases
• Patient ratio of 1:10
• Uses specialized equipment including CPT machine, Volera, Metaneb, cough assist devices, ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, and tracheostomy care equipment
• PointClickCare charting system experience preferred
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:00 to 6:00
• Works every other weekend

Requirements

• Active CRT or RRT credential
• BLS certification required
• State license required by start date (pending license accepted)
• License required if applicable
• Minimum 3 years of respiratory therapy experience
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• Pediatric critical care and LTAC experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skilled in ventilator management including weaning, troubleshooting high-pressure alarms, and BiPAP/CPAP care
• Experience with tracheostomy care, airway suctioning, and pulmonary hygiene procedures
• Experience caring for infants/children with bronchopulmonary dysplasia, RSV, and respiratory distress syndrome
• Proficient in ABG interpretation and medication administration including bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroids

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive respiratory care to medically complex pediatric patients including those with tracheostomies and ventilator dependence
• Administer aerosol therapy, nebulizer treatments, and airway management as needed
• Collaborate with pediatric care team to manage chronic and acute respiratory conditions
• Full 7-year work history with any gaps explained required for consideration
• Expect to work some holidays
• Time off requests should be minimized, particularly during the first two weeks of the assignment, and must be submitted and approved prior to start
