Manager, EHSS - Plant Operations

This role is for the EHS Manager, Plant Operations, responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs within the automotive manufacturing environment. The role ensures compliance with regulations, promotes a culture of safety, and drives continuous improvement in EHS performance. What You Get To Do Develop and implement EHS programs that comply with local, state, and federal regulations. Conduct regular risk assessments and implement corrective actions to mitigate identified risks. Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees at all levels, ensuring awareness and adherence to safety protocols. Lead investigations into EHS incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Ensure all operations comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and other relevant standards. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in EHS practices, leveraging industry best practices and emerging technologies. Maintain accurate records and reports related to EHS activities, incidents, and compliance. Collaborate with operations, maintenance, security, and other departments to integrate EHS considerations into manufacturing processes. Oversee occupational health clinic operations ensuring all company employees receive high-quality care across plant operations. Provide clear and effective reporting on EHS performance across operations and ensure integration of key leading metrics within responsible departments. What You Bring Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 12+ years of related experience Certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or equivalent certifications are highly desirable Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, excellent communication and leadership skills, ability to analyze data and implement effective solutions, proficiency in EHS software and tools Working Conditions Environment: A mix of office work and regular engagement with manufacturing floor operations to drive critical issues and support progress Physical Demands: Ability to conduct site inspections and investigations, which may involve physical activity Why Join Slate Slate fosters a culture of excellence, innovation, and mutual respect with a start-up spirit of ingenuity and resourcefulness.
