Forklift Operator

This Forklift Operator position is based on-site in Romeoville and involves full-time work in a freezer warehouse environment. The role requires operating a stand-up forklift to support daily warehouse operations, including material movement, loading, and inventory handling. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., providing a consistent daytime shift. The position is offered as a temporary assignment with the opportunity to become permanent based on performance and business needs. Personal protective equipment is provided for working in low temperatures, and adherence to warehouse safety procedures is essential throughout all tasks.

What You Will Do?

• Operate a stand-up forklift in a freezer environment to move, stack, and organize pallets and materials safely and efficiently during assigned shifts.

• Load and unload products from trucks or storage locations using a forklift while following all warehouse safety compliance rules and procedures.

• Handle, stack, and secure loads in racking or designated storage areas to prevent damage, ensure stability, and maintain orderly warehouse conditions.

• Follow inventory handling processes by moving, staging, and recording products accurately to support stock control and minimize errors.

• Adhere to all warehouse safety compliance standards, including PPE usage, traffic rules, and reporting of hazards or incidents promptly.

Your Skills

• At least one year of recent experience operating a stand-up forklift in a warehouse or similar industrial environment safely and reliably.

• Strong communication skills to coordinate with supervisors, coworkers, and truck drivers while following instructions and reporting issues clearly.

• Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse safety compliance practices, including safe equipment operation and adherence to safety procedures.

• Proven ability in load handling and stacking, including balancing, securing, and positioning pallets to minimize product damage.

• Experience with inventory handling tasks such as staging, relocating, and identifying products accurately within designated storage locations.

• High attention to detail to follow instructions, inspect loads, and complete assigned tasks accurately in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Details: $19.50 per hour
