What We’re Doing

Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking a full-time Global Algorithm Engineer. C2BMC is an IDIQ structured program comprised of multiple task orders responsible for the design, development, deployment, integration, testing, operations and sustainment of a software based Command/Control and Battle Management system. This system provides US Commanders around the globe essential situational awareness and is the integrating element central to the MDA’s missile defense missions. The MDA Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) National Team and collaborates with multiple government agencies, contractors, universities, and other organizations to accomplish a broad reaching mission.

The Work

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, integrating, and testing tracking and custody and firing algorithm solutions, as well as developing and validating complex models and simulations. You will work with a highly skilled team of systems engineering technologists and algorithm developers to support various contracts and IRADs. You will be responsible for the following: Designing, integrating, and testing tracking and custody algorithm solutions for tracking and fire control products. Developing and validating complex models and simulations, such as 6-degree-of-freedom simulations and effects-based simulations. Evaluating system performance in complex scenarios and environments Supporting ground and flight test efforts, including Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) activities. Collaborating with internal leadership and external customers to support program reviews and technical interchange meetings Facilitate Root Cause Analysis events in order to identify root causes and associated corrective actions. Evaluate process/product performance and participate/interface with the engineering counterparts on program activities to assure processes and products are compliant to contractual requirements. Monitor the product development including requirements allocation, architecture, design, development, integration, test and acceptance of products and solutions. Ability to evaluate data to identify systemic issues and trends; provide reports to senior management. Provide inputs to the QPM to ensure sound labor estimates on ECPs and on-going proposal efforts Witness integration and test activities and formal quality testing, as required Perform reviews and inspections of program artifacts/deliverables and associated activities to assure quality requirements processes and standards are met.

Who You Are

A successful candidate has experience in algorithm experience in at least one of the following: optimization / machine learning / state estimation. Software Quality Engineering and/or related discipline processes including Systems Engineering Methodologies (Model Based and DoDAF). Basic understanding of Software Languages (such as JAVA and Python). Code and peer review experience. Experienced reviewer of technical documentation. Experienced root cause analysis practitioner. Process auditing experience.

Basic Qualifications

-A Final Secret is required for consideration

-Professional algorithm experience in optimization, machine learning, state estimation, or signal processing

-Proficiency in Java, Python, and MATLAB

-Experience modeling physics simulations

-A mathematical background

-Professional applications of Linear Algebra, Statistics, and Calculus

-Understanding of numerical computing approaches and mathematical algorithm design

-Experience using software development tools such as Git, Maven and common IDEs

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $89,300 - $157,550. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
