Essential duties and responsibilities Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns promptly, assist with video gaming needs, inform guests about promotions and the trade-in program, recommend additional items, apply selling behaviors during transactions, and thank guests. Circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks. Support the shopping environment (visual and operational elements) and nurture guest relationships to drive sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases and returns accurately via the POS system with high service quality. Address guest questions in person or by phone; answer calls promptly and professionally. Promote GameStop benefits such as new title reservations and the Pro Rewards loyalty program. Keep store areas (including restrooms) clean, organized, and merchandised; ensure fixtures and equipment are in working order. Complete Omni-Channel orders daily. Safeguard assets through inventory control and loss prevention practices, including scam awareness and safety practices; perform bank deposits as required. Conduct store inventory counts, stock/restock merchandise, and organize products on the floor and in the stock room. Support management in achieving sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete required administrative and operational duties. Count, balance, and reconcile daily POS transactions; ensure closeout paperwork and bank deposits are accurate; maintain sufficient cash and change; make daily bank deposits per guidelines. Check shipments for discrepancies, record findings in the POS system, and report to management as needed. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls promptly with proper labeling and packing lists. Supervise and delegate tasks in the absence of management. Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures as outlined in the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Follow opening and closing procedures and provide timely feedback on associate performance to store management. Qualifications Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required. At least 1 year of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Ability to work alone, stand, and move throughout the store unassisted for up to 10 hours per day. Required job skills and abilities Exceptional guest service skills and genuine, friendly assistance to every guest. Clear verbal and written communication and active listening; English proficiency required; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment. Meet performance expectations (attendance, professional dress, grooming). Operate the POS system and complete required paperwork. Basic math and alphabetical organization skills. Self-motivation and ability to work as part of a team; strong problem-solving and judgment abilities. Ability to follow instructions and deliver bank deposits following loss prevention safety guidelines. Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability. Remain effective under pressure and handle stress appropriately. Physical ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb ladders, and lift up to 30 lbs from ground to 4 feet high; stand and move for up to 10 hours per day.
