SQL Server Developer

We are looking for a Senior Database Developer to join our team and focus on architecting and implementing innovative solutions for our investment divisions. You will be working with data and research departments, implementing databases used for research and portfolio construction. As a quantitative investment management firm data is at the core of our process and the solutions we build can give us an edge over our competitors by providing access to more datasets, deeper history, broader investable universe and better quality of data. This position offers a unique opportunity to learn about all facets of the investment process while being part of a very talented team of developers and contributing to one of the firm's most critical business areas.

• Work closely with research analysts to support portfolio managers, comprehend the data needs and data usage.
• Propose and design database solutions.
• Implement database systems based on the solutions proposed and work closely with users to test and integrate the system into the current production environment.
• Support the systems developed.

• 5+ years of experience developing application with the focus on data and data access.
• Proven track record building large scale SQL Server databases.
• Expert level T-SQL skills and good knowledge of SQL internals.
• Experience with performance tuning, execution plans, indexed views.
• Niece to have experience with C# and the .NET Framework.
• Methodical and pragmatic.
• Self-starter, able to work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills - both written and oral.
• Must be detail-oriented and able to prioritize work and effectively manage multiple tasks.
• Mathematics or other analytical background would be a plus.
