Registered Nurse - Oncology

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to oncology patients undergoing bone marrow transplants, ensuring optimal treatment and safety. This role requires expertise in complex clinical procedures, chemotherapy administration, and patient assessment.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to oncology patients, including those receiving chemotherapy and bone marrow transplants.
• Administer chemotherapy and monitor patient responses, adjusting treatments as necessary.
• Read telemetry and manage titration of IV drips, ensuring accurate medication delivery.
• Conduct patient assessments, monitor vitals, and perform safety rounds to maintain high standards of care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech and adhere to unit-specific policies and guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license with a minimum of one year of recent oncology or PCU level experience.
• Certification in ACLS and Chemo Certification is required prior to start.
• Demonstrate proficiency in reading telemetry and managing IV titrations.
• Possess strong assessment skills and the ability to recognize clinical changes promptly.
• Experienced in administering chemotherapy with competence and confidence.
• BLS certification is required.
