Senior Staff Accountant FLSA: Non-Exempt REPORTS TO: Controller HOURS: Full time, Monday thru Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm; Overtime as needed. Job Summary: The Senior Staff Accountant ensures accurate and timely financial and cost reporting, analysis, and audit preparation, and liaises with program directors for multiple entities of Liberty ARC. - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a business related field is required.
- Two years of related experience is required.
- Non-profit experience preferred.
- Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as general office skills.
- Must be able to read and write the English language.
- Valid NYS Driver's License that meets agency standards and reliable transportation.
- Ensure accurate and timely journal entries, allocations, and financial statement reporting.
- Perform account reconciliations according to established standards.
- Produce financial statement and variance analysis, and conduct financial review meetings with program directors.
- Act as a fiscal liaison to assigned departments in proactively providing financial data for effective management decision making.
- Develop and distribute budgets and financial forecasts.
- Perform annual audit preparation as assigned.
- Prepare cost reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Meet all Agency, Federal, State, and County Reporting requirements as established.
- Perform special projects as assigned.
