The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective, patient-and-family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. The role emphasizes personal development with a focus on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises both licensed and non-licensed staff members. Utilizing the caring processes of a recognized model of care, the RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. The RN prioritizes patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in delivering quality care and mentoring/precepting staff. Job Responsibilities: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy or as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Initiates, prioritizes, implements, reviews, and revises the plan of care as indicated. Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services. Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization and patients. Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs during their stay and at discharge. Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functions as a mentor/preceptor and encourages teamwork. Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement. Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts and implements practice changes. Complies with regulatory standards and participates in practice governance.
