Business Development Manager, Mid-Atlantic Region

Business Development Manager – Overview As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for an assigned territory in the United States as well as national and global responsibilities. The BDM is expected to work closely with security specification writers, LifeSafety Power (LSP) OEM partners, targeted end‑users, integrators, and independent representatives to create new sales opportunities that drive growth in the assigned and national territories. The ideal candidate will have sales talent, drive, persistence, a solutions‑based sales approach, strong presentation skills, a good LSP culture fit, and be willing to relocate to the Delaware, Maryland, Virginia or Washington DC area. Essential Functions & Responsibilities Work closely with security specifiers, OEM partners, integrators, and end‑users to create new business opportunities. Deliver scheduled product presentations with a solutions‑based sales approach. Identify regional, national, and global opportunities and develop “Strategic Standardizations” for end‑users. Educate and inform the A&E and security consultant community about LifeSafety Power solutions to drive new LSP specifications and convert competitive positions. Participate in regional, national, and international industry association events (required). Report regularly to the Senior Director of Sales via CRM and other means, covering new business development, opportunity progress, territory outlook, new specifications written, competitive forces, and region activation. Drive activities to animate the region, including routine joint sales calls with OEM partners, national account salespeople, integrators, and independent representatives; attendance at trade shows; product demonstrations and webinars. Qualifications Minimum of five (5) years of outside sales experience / territory management, or three (3) years with a related bachelor’s degree. Strong ties and existing relationships within the Fed/Gov space; relationships with Access OEM partners a plus. Background within access control or security industries. “Hunter” sales mindset rather than “farmer”. Ability to present/sell in person or via webinar. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; effective territory management using CRM. Supervisory Responsibilities The position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Language Ability Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations in English; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals in English; present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public. Computer Skills Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, accounting and payroll software; working knowledge of Internet, email, manufacturing and database software. Other Skills Excellent communication and organizational skills. Physical Demands Frequently sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, use hands and arms, communicate clearly; occasionally lift 35 pounds. #J-18808-Ljbffr
