Physician Assistant - Wound Care

Location: Wound Center - Our Organization, Hagerstown, MD
Full-Time, Day Shifts
Salary Range: $124,000 to $145,000/year

We are looking for a dedicated full-time Physician Assistant to join our Wound Care Center. Our organization provides competitive salaries and exceptional benefits, making us one of the leading employers in Washington County, MD.

This role involves working autonomously as well as collaborating with physicians to provide comprehensive care to patients. The primary focus is on achieving specific clinical, financial, and satisfaction outcomes for various patient populations and medical conditions. You will coordinate with the healthcare team and uphold ethical standards as outlined by the Nurse Practice Act and the ANA code of ethics for nurses. Care will be delivered in a professional and therapeutic manner, with a strong emphasis on respecting the unique needs of each patient and their significant others. Advocacy for patient rights, dignity, and beliefs is essential.

The Wound Center addresses a variety of wound types, including but not limited to:

• Acute traumatic wounds
• Chronic and complex wounds
• Management of pressure ulcers
• Care for venous ulcers with compression wraps
• Diabetic foot ulcers
• Post-operative wound dehiscence
• Advanced treatment options: Total Contact Casting (TCC), wound vacs, PICO vacs, cellular-based tissue products, and ostomy care

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience: Wound care experience is preferred.

Physician Assistant Requirements:

• Education: A Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies is required.
• Experience: A minimum of one year of experience as a Physician Assistant is preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Must hold a valid Physician Assistant license in Maryland. Current DEA registration and CDS permit are required, along with BLS (CPR) and ACLS certifications in accordance with policy.
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must demonstrate critical thinking and possess extensive clinical expertise. Ability to collaborate effectively with various disciplines at all levels is essential. Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent organizational abilities, are required. Familiarity with coding, ICD-10, and CPT is preferred, or a commitment to learn. Access to EHR systems will be provided.
