Job Summary


Our client is seeking a Patient Account Representative to lead the encounter review process, ensuring accurate documentation and submission of claims for Medicaid. The role also involves insurance verification and assisting with updates in EPIC systems.


Key Responsibilities

• Log into Encounter work queue and verify encounters to ensure narratives are accurately documented for clinician/payor access.
• Submit claims based on encounters for Medicaid.
• Conduct insurance verification.
• Contribute to follow-up and claims denials processes.
• Assist with DAR updates in EPIC.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of medical billing experience.
• Outpatient Medicaid experience, ideally with some touchpoints in Behavioral Health or Mental Health claims.
• Proficiency in documentation review, progress note reading, and encounter review.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 & CPT.
• Experience with EPIC and Microsoft Office, particularly sorting and filtering in Microsoft Access.
• Encounter review, SOAP notes, and DAR processes are of utmost importance.
• Preferred: Billing or related certification.

• Technical: EPIC, Microsoft Access.
• Communication and attention to detail for encounter review and claims submission.
