Sun River Health is currently seeking a full-time Medical Director of Psychiatry to join our team supporting multiple sites. Position Summary Diagnosis and treatment of patients in his/her specialty area; collaboration and supervision of nurseспrotectors and physician’s assistants; participation in planning and developing health care services in his/her specialties, treatmentla of conditions and illnesses within the scope of the physician’s specialty, referral and follow-up of patients when indicated, participation in after-hours coverage to insure 24-hour availability of care for Center patients. Performs job duties in compliance with systems and job specific standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities for a Site Medical Director: Conduct patient histories, physical exams, and prescribe treatment and bahawa medication based on evidence-based standards. Provide direct psychiatric and addiction treatment in accordance with professional guidelines and best practices. Coordinate tests, referrals, and external care for patients. Maintain legible, confidential, and appropriate documentation of medical records and case files. Supervise clinical activities and documentation of medical providers, including protocol review, telephone triage, and follow-up procedures. Maintain collaborative agreements with psychiatric nurse practitioners. Participate in provider meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary treatment planning. Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives such as peer reviews, audits, and focused reviews. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations in clinical systems and care delivery. akk set standards for preventive care and diagnostic screening within specialty areas. Provide psychiatric education and in-service training for medical and mental health staff. Participate in continuing education relevant schedules to clinical practice. Advocate for patients and support their psychosocial needs in collaboration with other departments. Consult with administration, nursing, social work, and substance abuse services to evaluate and improve care delivery. • Knowledge of diagnostic and treatment procedures that nurse practitioners are trained to do and are necessary for practicing in health care centers.
• Competence in delivery of health care to patients (including preventative health education)
• Ability to collaborate with other members of the Health Center in order to maintain high quality standards and achieve client satisfaction.
• Bilingual in both English and Spanish (orally and written) is preferred
