Senior Director, Product Management - New Business

Lead the creation of new, standalone, non-news products at CNN Drive products that enrich users’ lives and support CNN’s subscription business Partner with product, design, engineering, research, editorial, and analytics teams Steer product MVPs to market and validate product-market fit using quantitative and qualitative feedback Iterate and improve successful products, or pivot and shut down unsuccessful products Orchestrate design, development, and evolution of the first wave of standalone products Develop product and feature concepts and framing strategies with design Lead coordinated delivery plans and aggressive but achievable roadmaps with engineering and design Lead product directors and managers across different initiatives Ensure product quality and coach the team through the New Development process Empower and mentor the product team and foster a collaborative, productive team environment Represent New Business within CNN’s broader product organization Lead cross-CNN collaboration and manage interdependencies and delivery risks Promote collaboration with cross-functional leads and senior leadership Help create a culture of innovation and push the boundaries of CNN Requirements 12+ years of product management experience Experience delivering new end-to-end product experiences in the media space Experience launching and developing new products and features Comfort with 0-1 product work and navigating ambiguity Experience managing a team of 5+ people Ability to craft concise, customer-centric product requirements and product vision documents Strong communication skills for conveying strategy, roadmaps, and product plans Understanding of A/B testing methodologies Ability to use data to inform product decisions Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong ownership and customer empathy Experience developing consumer-facing experiences across web, mobile, and newsletters Experience managing multiple stakeholders and business teams Experience driving clarity and progress in ambiguous situations Experience with data analysis and using insights for business decisions Core Competencies Demonstrates extensive product management expertise with a focus on developing and launching innovative consumer-facing products in the media space.
