Member of Technical Staff (Software)

A digital computer transforms bits. A factory transforms atoms. Most factories are still built around fixed processes, fragmented systems, and software that records what happened after the fact. The Everything Factory needs the same kind of programmable layer for manufacturing: a system where customer requirements compile into work instructions, robot programs, operator workflows, build records, and finished product. This role shapes the software architecture that makes that possible across the factory operating system, the customer-facing portal, and the tools operators use on the floor. The Work Design the data model and service architecture that connect customer requirements, cell instructions, build records, QA, scheduling, and delivery. Build factory operating-system primitives: cell controllers, work-instruction models, build-record schemas, scheduling, and traceability. Build customer-facing software for design intake, quoting, project tracking, live build status, and delivery documentation. Build operator-facing software for cell UI, traveler workflows, QA capture, and exception handling that stays calm under floor pressure. Decide what to build, what to integrate, and where existing PLM, MES, ERP, or CM software is the right boundary. Useful Background Strong full-stack engineering judgment across TypeScript on the front end and Python, Go, or Rust on the backend. Experience shipping software that real people depend on: internal tools, infrastructure, or product code with hard correctness requirements. Strong taste for system architecture across factory, customer, and operator product surfaces. Bonus: experience with manufacturing software (MES, PLM, ERP), real-time systems, or computer vision.
