The CNC Machinist operates CNC grinders to produce aerospace parts and metal components in a low-volume, custom and short-run production environment. Reporting to the shop supervisor, this role sets up machines, operates existing programs, edits programs at the machine, and performs precision machining and dimensional measurement to meet blueprint specifications.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC grinding equipment.
- Operate existing CNC programs and edit programs at the machine as needed.
- Read and interpret blueprints for custom and short-run production work.
- Machine aerospace parts and metal components to specified requirements.
- Perform precision machining in a low-volume production environment.
- Conduct dimensional measurements to verify part quality and conformance.
- Report to and collaborate with the shop supervisor throughout the production workflow.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in CNC machining.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with CNC programming and G-code.
- Blueprint reading skills.
- Experience operating CNC machines, preferably CNC grinders.
- Experience with precision measurement.
