Precision CNC Lathe Setup & First-Article SpecialistLocation: Pomona, CAPay: $30–$35/hour (direct-hire)Hours: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.Is this you?Do you enjoy taking a raw setup and turning it into a dialed-in, repeatable process?Can you interpret GD&T quickly and translate it into a reliable setup plan?Are you confident inspecting your own first articles and adjusting offsets without oversight?Do you thrive in a fast-paced job-shop environment where every day brings a new challenge?Role SnapshotOwn full CNC lathe setups (2–4 axis), from tooling and workholding to offsets and verification.Read and apply blueprints/GD&T, validate critical features, and document first-article results.Troubleshoot tooling wear, improve speeds/feeds, and stabilize cycles for production.Produce parts for aerospace and commercial applications (no prior aerospace experience required).Must-HavesIndependent CNC lathe setup experience.Blueprint literacy with GD&T proficiency.Precision measurement and first-article inspection capability.Hands-on troubleshooting of tooling, offsets, speeds, and feeds.Reliable commute to Pomona for the day shift.Great-to-HaveFanuc control familiarity.Live tooling experience.Y-axis, sub-spindle, or bar feeder exposure.Aerospace or medical parts background.AS9100 or ISO job-shop experience.Experience with aluminum, stainless steel, or titanium.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent; technical machining education/certification a plus.Track record as a CNC lathe operator/machinist with setup ownership.Understanding of CNC programming concepts and standard setup practices.Comfortable with G-code and M-code.Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation.Detail-focused, analytical, and solutions-oriented.Team player who can also work independently in a fast-paced shop.Knowledge of machining safety protocols.What You’re Proficient InGD&TCNC ToolingG-CodeM-CodeCNC Machine Setup & ChangeoverPrecision Measurement & Hand MetrologyAdvanced Inspection & Gauge MeasurementMachine Setups for Production RunsEquipment & References You’ll Use2D DrawingsCNC Lathe (2–4 axis)Why this role?If you like being the go-to person for first-article success and enjoy seeing your setups run clean and accurate, you’ll fit right in.
