As an Assistant Produce Department Manager, you will help oversee daily produce operations, ensure high standards for freshness and presentation, and drive sales through strong merchandising and inventory control. Main responsibilities:

• Help oversee daily operations of the Produce Department with a focus on freshness, quality, and customer service
• Deliver knowledgeable, friendly service and ensure associates demonstrate strong product knowledge
• Assist with executing corporate merchandising programs, planograms, seasonal sets, and promotional displays
• Maintain full, fresh, clean, and visually appealing produce displays at all times
• Assist with managing product rotation, remove damaged or unsellable items, and maintain freshness standards
• Assist with ordering, receiving, inspection, and store product following food safety and rotation guidelines
• Help with managing shrink through inventory controls, root?cause identification, and waste?reduction strategies
• Assist with building and managing labor schedules aligned with business needs
• Assist with training, coaching, and developing produce associates while maintaining a positive team environment
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, safety, and company operational standards
• Perform Product Department duties as needed and assume responsibility for department operations in the absence of the Produce Manager

Knowledge:

• Produce handling, rotation, and freshness standards
• Retail merchandising and promotional execution
• Store systems and inventory tools

Abilities:

• Ability to review sales, shrink, and inventory data to drive results
• Ability to train and develop associates
• Ability to lift, move, and stack product and work in coolers and refrigerated environments
