Direct Counsel has partnered with a respected California law firm seeking an experienced Investigations Partner or Senior of Counsel with an established and portable investigations practice to join its growing team. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in a strategic lateral transition, boutique merger opportunity, or long-term succession/wind-up planning strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
• Handle sensitive, high-profile investigations for public and private sector clients throughout California
• Independently manage investigations from intake through findings and reporting
• Advise clients on workplace, ethics, compliance, and governance matters
• Maintain and grow strong client relationships
• Lead sophisticated investigations involving personnel, executive conduct, and institutional issues

Qualified candidates should have substantial experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Workplace investigations
• Title IX investigations
• Public agency investigations
• Executive misconduct and ethics investigations
• Compliance and cultural assessments
• Independent investigations involving sensitive personnel or governance issues

Qualifications:
• Established investigations practice with portable business
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex investigations
• Exceptional judgment, discretion, interviewing, and writing skills
• Experience advising public entities, educational institutions, municipalities, or private employers preferred
• Strong professional reputation and client relationships

Portable Business Expectation:
Approximately $300K+ in annual investigations-related revenue preferred.
