Location Hollywood, Florida Summary The Multi-Modality Technologist II provides diagnostic imaging in multiple specialties in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. Maintains MHS clinical competencies and regularly practices in each of the alternate imaging disciplines. Responsibilities Position patients and perform imaging procedures. Analyze acquisition parameters and resulting sequences and identify issues with image quality. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and/or repeating images/sequences in conjunction with interpreting physicians and standard protocols. When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually, and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate. Takes on call shift responsibilities as required. Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient understanding and cooperation. Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary. Maintains MRI Safety in accordance with safety recommendations outlined by the American College of Radiology and hospital policy. Charges appropriately for all supplies used for procedure and utilizes appropriate exam codes. Competencies Accountability Cardiac Monitoring – Techs Customer Service MRI Safety Patient and Family Centered Care Patient Positioning and Procedures Responding to Change Standards of Behavior Education and Certification Requirements Accredited Program: Imaging (Required) ARRT – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists BLS Cert American Heart Registered as a Technologist (RT) and registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in two (2) of the following within one (1) year of hire date: Computed Tomography (CT), or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), or Nuclear Medicine (NM), or Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI). Additional Job Information Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication, decisive judgment, and the ability to build and foster positive relationships. The incumbent must be able to lead others and take appropriate action when required. Required Work Experience: A combination of three (3) years of technologist experience in advanced modalities in a hospital setting.
