Recovery Advocate — Austin, TX

The Recovery Advocate is the person actually in the room. You keep the floor safe and the day structured for people in the first hours of withdrawal — walking rounds, noticing what changes, and being steady when someone is not. Schedule Full time, with varying shifts — days, evenings and overnights all exist on this rota. On site at the North Lamar campus every shift. Thirty-minute rounds are the spine of the job. What you will do Monitor client activity and document what you observe. Keep clients safe and hold the policies and procedures. Complete thirty-minute rounds and keep the day structured. Offer guidance and redirection when someone drifts off track. Help with intakes, discharges and transportation as needed. Hold professional boundaries while still being encouraging. Required A compassionate, professional attitude. Strong communication and problem-solving. The ability to set a boundary and still be supportive. A genuine interest in helping people through addiction. Preferred Any experience in behavioral health, healthcare or peer support.
