Associate Director, Biostatistics- Virology

Gilead Sciences seeks an Associate Director of Biostatistics to provide strategic statistical leadership for virology clinical development programs. The role involves designing trials, authoring analysis plans, and collaborating across cross-functional teams to support regulatory submissions and publications.
Responsibilities
- Lead statistical strategy and execution for Phase 1–3 clinical trials
- Represent biostatistics on study and development teams, providing strategic input
- Author statistical analysis plans and advise on trial design, endpoints, and analysis methods
- Support regulatory documentation, scientific publications, and presentations
- Analyze historical and external data using advanced methods to inform clinical development
Requirements
- 10+ years relevant experience with bachelor's degree, or equivalent advanced education
- PhD strongly preferred for this position
- Expert knowledge of clinical trial design and statistical analysis methods
- Proficiency with advanced statistical software and techniques
- Experience authoring statistical analysis plans and clinical study reports
- Strong regulatory and industry standards knowledge
Compensation: Bay Area: $195,670–$253,220; Other US Locations: $177,905–$230,230 base salary
