Mid-Level Real Estate Associate — Institutional Deals

Greenway Collins are working with a leading US law firm looking to hire a 4th-6th year real estate associate for its highly ranked real estate practice. This is not a general property role. You need to have substantive experience in institutional real estate transactions, real estate finance, or both, gained at an AmLaw 100 firm. Target profile Class year 2019-2021 Real estate transactions and/or real estate finance experience Experience with institutional investors, lenders, sponsors, developers, REITs or asset managers Strong drafting experience across documents such as PSAs, loan agreements, mortgages, mezzanine documents, intercreditor agreements, JV/operating agreements, development agreements or leases Comfortable managing closing checklists, diligence, deal timelines and junior associate workstreams Able to negotiate directly with opposing counsel and act as the day-to-day deal lead NY, DC, CA, IL or GA bar admission, depending on office location The role is suited to someone who wants more than execution support. The team is leanly staffed, so mid-level associates are expected to run matters day-to-day, manage client contact, negotiate substantive points and work directly with partners on major real estate transactions. The work covers acquisitions, financings, JVs, development, leasing, refinancings, recapitalisations, preferred equity, mezzanine debt, intercreditor issues and complex capital structures across asset classes including multifamily, office, industrial, hospitality, retail and data centres. Locations New York, Washington DC, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco or Atlanta Work style Hybrid, generally 3 days per week in office Compensation $295k-$370k base, plus market bonus, depending on class year Remote Fully remote is not available This is a strong platform for someone who wants elite real estate work, real deal ownership at mid-level, and a credible long-term path within a major firm rather than sitting in a senior-junior holding pattern.
