Azure Virtual Desktop Architect

Salary: $145,000 - 175,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a high school diploma or GED; a bachelors degree in computer science or information technology is preferred, and a masters degree in either field is also preferred.
• We require at least six years of experience in Azure Virtual Desktop architecture and implementation.
• We require experience with application packaging, core end-user computing concepts, and designing and building new AVD environments.
• We prefer a strong working knowledge of non-AVD desktop virtualization platforms such as Citrix.
• We prefer at least four years of experience collaborating with offshore teams to deliver solutions.
• We prefer experience supporting large, complex AVD deployments and working in a consulting environment.
• We prefer relevant certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-140, and AZ-305.
• We require hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop; Microsoft Azure experience is preferred.
• We prefer at least four years of experience with Citrix, VMware, Hyper-V, or similar desktop virtualization technologies.
• We need excellent communication, professionalism, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.
• We need strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• We require the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
• We need someone who can manage multiple deadlines and tasks at once while staying detail-oriented and composed under pressure.

• We lead the design and architecture of Azure Virtual Desktop solutions so they are scalable, secure, efficient, and aligned with business needs.
• We oversee onshore and offshore engineering teams delivering virtual desktop technologies and integrating them with existing systems.
• We customize and configure AVD and end-user computing applications, including packaging, automation, and final delivery activities.
• We provide technical direction and apply best practices and standards across delivery teams.
• We partner with client stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to define requirements and convert them into technical solutions.
• We monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and improve availability and reliability of AVD applications.
• We maintain clear documentation covering architecture, design, and implementation details.
• We train and support end users and IT staff to help them get the most value from our AVD solutions.
• We escalate issues to senior management when needed and provide regular implementation status updates.
• We prepare formal and informal presentations for internal and external meetings.
• We supervise day-to-day team workloads, ensure software training, provide feedback, assess performance, and mentor team members as appropriate.
