Nurse/Clinical Research Coord

Overview The UNM Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Center for Psychiatric Research, is seeking a dynamic and experienced candidate to serve as Nurse/Clinical Research Coordinator for the study “Evaluation of Psilocybin As an Adjunctive Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder in Methadone‑maintained Patients Who Continue to Use Illicit Opioids.” The successful candidate will use acquired knowledge and skill to carry out project activities, including working closely with the study MD and other study staff to implement the therapeutic protocol, performing clinical evaluations, attending conference calls, evaluating risk, and advising on exclusion or withdrawal decisions. FTE is flexible up to .30. The position is located in the Health Sciences Center, Albuquerque, NM. Responsibilities Work closely with the study MD and other study staff to implement the therapeutic aspects of protocol, including preparatory sessions, medication administration sessions, and integration sessions, ensuring therapy adheres to the therapy manual. Perform clinical evaluations, assessments, and medical procedures as described by the protocol and MOP, including completion of required checklists, progress notes, and other source documentation. Attend and participate in study conference calls. Evaluate study participants for suicidal or homicidal risk and document clinical findings and decisions. Provide advice for decisions to exclude, refer, or withdraw study participants. Conditions of Employment CPR Certified. Successful candidate must submit to post‑offer, pre‑employment physical examination and medical history check. May be required to submit immunization records for review for required vaccines and TB testing. Must maintain certification and/or licensure status. May be required to complete department‑specific professional development activities. Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University’s influenza vaccination requirement. Minimum Qualifications Associate’s degree in Nursing; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Certification/Licensure: State of New Mexico Licensed Registered Nurse or licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the multistate privilege to practice compact with New Mexico. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year‑for‑year basis. Preferred Qualifications Experience with substance abuse/addiction patients. Currently working in a clinical setting.
