Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Magnet-recognized acute care teaching hospital in Rochester, NY, requiring an active NY RN license and Epic experience.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department of a 528-bed Magnet-recognized acute care teaching hospital in Rochester, NY
• Adult and geriatric patient population presenting with all emergency-type diagnoses
• Dedicated pediatric ED, crisis intervention unit, and trauma suite on-site
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Day/night rotation shifts (7a-7p and 7p-7a), 3x12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday coverage required, as needed
• Floating required within skillset
• Epic EMR experience required
• Scrub color must be any combination of navy blue and white

Requirements

• Active NY single-state RN license currently in hand (NY is not a Compact state)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of ED RN experience
• IV therapy skills required: blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with IV vasopressors required
• CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator management experience required
• Experience with CVA/stroke, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and TBI patient populations required
• Cardiac monitoring experience including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Emergency care experience with adult and pediatric patients, including gunshot wounds and orthopedic trauma required
• Familiarity with isolation precautions, triage, and pediatric spinal cord injury required
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Special equipment used includes Bair Hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment
• Hospital is certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center and affiliated with Cleveland Clinic and Roswell Park
• All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years are required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required for consideration
