USPS Contract Delivery Relief Driver

Job Description

We are currently seeking mail carrier applicants for our routes in Cottonwood, CA

**Minimum Qualifications**+Must be at least 18 years of age be able to life up to 75 pounds and work in all weather conditions.

• Possess a valid Driver's license and have a minimum of 2 years driving experience with a clean driving record.
• Own a reliable vehicle that meets the specified vehicle requirements outlined below the adheres to postal regulations and driving standards.
• Prior experience is preferred but not required.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

• As a USPS contract mail carriers, you will be responsible for delivering mail and packages to residential homes and commercial addresses in the cottonwood area.
• Your duties will include traveling on scheduled routes, delivering mail and packages obtaining signatures, and collect outgoing mail. Delivery will be performed regardless of weather conditions, also schedules may be subject to delays.
• Upon completion of each route you will sort mail in the designated delivery sequence for active mailbox's.
• You will load mail and packages into delivery vehicles in the designated delivery sequence.
• You will deliver mail to customers mailboxes along an assigned line-of-travel.
• You will deliver packages and obtain signatures.

**Schedule**

• Work schedule
• Moday threw Saturday.
• Sunday and Holidays off
• Hours are 5am until completion of the route
• approximately 7 hours a day depending on volume and carrier efficiency.

**Minimum Vehicle and Insurance Requirements**

• The vehicle must be a qualifying vehicle that meets the following criteria's
• Be a passenger vehicle
• Have a valid registration and insurance
• Meet postal regulations and driving standards

** Job Description **

• Vehicle may be of any age, provided it is in good physical and mechanical condition. Vehicle preferred to be equivalent to a cargo van or passenger Van, but not a requirement.
• As part of your compensation package reimbursement rate will be integrated into your daily salary to cover personal vehicle use for mail delivery purposes. The applicant is solely responsible for all vehicle maintenance, fuel, and insurance expenses.
• Further details regarding schedule, hours, and pay during the interview process will be provided.
• *Prior experience in mail delivery is preferred but not mandatory.
• *Availability for the day shift id required.
• Availity to work weekday and some Saturdays.
