Inventory Clerk

The Inventory Clerk coordinates and expedites the flow of work and materials within and between departments to meet production schedules. This role focuses on reviewing and distributing production, work, and shipment schedules, while compiling accurate reports on inventory levels, costs, and related production data to support efficient operations and informed decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the flow of work and materials between departments to ensure alignment with production schedules and priorities.
• Review production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine personnel requirements, material needs, and material priorities.
• Examine documents, materials, and products to verify completeness, accuracy, and conformance to established standards and specifications.
• Monitor work processes to ensure adherence to production plans and quality standards.
• Record detailed production data, including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, and quality control measures.
• Compile and maintain reports on inventory levels, costs, and other key metrics related to production and materials usage.
• Requisition materials and supplies and maintain appropriate inventory levels to meet ongoing and forecasted production demands.
• Accurately document and record customer and client information related to inventory, orders, and shipments.
• Apply knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to shipping and production when managing inventory and materials.
• Use computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel, to create, update, and maintain inventory and production documentation.

• Ability to analyze costs related to manufacturing, labor, and materials and provide insights to support operational decisions.
• Ability to accurately document and record customer and client information in inventory and production systems.
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to shipping and production and their impact on inventory management.
• Proficiency with computer applications, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel, for documentation, reporting, and data analysis.
• High school diploma or GED.
• 24 years of related experience in inventory control, cycle counts, or inventory management.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience performing inventory control activities, including cycle counts and reconciliation of inventory records.
• Experience in inventory management within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Ability to interpret production schedules and staffing tables to plan material and personnel requirements.
• Familiarity with quality control measures and how they relate to production data and inventory accuracy.
• Comfort working with standardized procedures and specifications to maintain consistency and compliance in inventory processes.

Work Environment

This is an onsite position with work scheduled Monday through the standard workweek. The role operates in a production-oriented environment that requires close coordination with manufacturing, shipping, and other operational teams. Work is performed using computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel, along with standard office and production documentation tools. The environment emphasizes accuracy, adherence to standards, and collaboration across departments to maintain smooth material flow and reliable inventory levels.

This is a Contract position based out of Lafayette, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
