About Q30 Sports Science

Since its formation, Q30 Sports Science has been focused on transforming the invention of two doctors into a safe, effective, and groundbreaking medical device to reduce the risk and severity of traumatic brain injury through partial jugular vein compression. Q30’s effort has included engaging leading engineers and fabricators to design and produce the Q-Collar, and working with world-renowned experts and independent researchers to perform more than 25 pre-clinical and clinical studies, 18 of which have resulted in published articles. On February 26, 2021, following a thorough evaluation of the research by the FDA, the Q-Collar became the first and only FDA-cleared device to reduce traumatic brain injury.

Position Overview

This position is an integral part of our monthly closing process which includes responsibilities such as reconciling general ledger accounts, recording journal entries, and reporting of key financial schedules and statements all while ensuring compliance with company policies and US GAAP.

• Location & Work Arrangement | Hybrid — Norwalk, CT. Regular in-office presence expected , with some flexibility for remote work.
\n
• Compensation | $90,000 – $120,000 base salary plus annual bonus eligibility and standard benefits. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
\n

Essential Functions

\n
• Lead the monthly/quarterly/annual financial close process in a timely and accurate manner
\n
• Responsible for accurate and timely preparation of journal entries with complete supporting documentation
\n
• Prepare and review various and complex account reconciliations and account analysis monthly
\n
• Ensure financial reporting is completed in accordance with US GAAP
\n
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and summaries for management use
\n
• Provide financial data and analysis to support budgeting activities
\n
• Perform analysis of financial data and identify unusual trends or variances, escalating issues as appropriate
\n
• Perform and assist with various accounting research for new accounting pronouncements and new company initiatives
\n
• Partner with external auditors compiling information to complete various audits timely and accurately
\n
• A key focus of this position will be to improve business processes by eliminating waste and increasing quality while achieving and maintaining optimal levels of process performance
\n
• Other duties as assigned.
\n

Required/Preferred Education And Experience

\n
• A degree in Accounting or Finance required
\n
• CPA certification (active or in progress) and public accounting experience preferred
\n
• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience preferred
\n
• Experience in corporate, manufacturing, or accounting environments
\n
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, and account reconciliations
\n
• Experience with accruals, prepaids, inventory accounting, cost accounting, tax accounting, or legal entity accounting
\n

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

\n
• Knowledge of general accounting principles, procedures, and software
\n
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management
\n
• Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency
\n
• Ability to work independently, be self-directed, and self-motivated
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
\n
• Demonstrated ability to work with many types of confidential data with discretion and professionalism
