About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:00) Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP Required; AWHONN Intermediate Preferred Must-Have: Experience with labor (vaginal), cesarean sections, and postpartum hemorrhage Description: We are looking for motivated, experienced labor and delivery nurses who want to work in a team-based unit. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience. First-time travelers are not accepted. The patient population includes neonates, infants, and adults. Certifications required include BLS, ACLS, and NRP. AWHONN Intermediate certification is preferred. Skills needed include administration of blood products, amnioinfusion, and antepartum care. Candidates should be able to assist with high-risk deliveries and sterile examinations. Experience in lactation support and cesarean sections is also required. The average daily census for the unit is approximately 15 patients. Patient ratios during shifts are typically 1:1 or 1:2. The unit has 16 labor and delivery beds. Full compliance is required to start on time. Call requirements are 2 calls per 6 weeks for AM and PM shifts. If one major holiday falls during the assignment period, the nurse is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall during the assignment period, the nurse is expected to work both. Interdisciplinary support services include IV teams, physical therapy, and respiratory services.
