Employment ClassificationFull-time, hourly, non-exemptPay RateCommensurate with market and job level or experienceBasic FunctionThe primary duty of the Production Line Lead Worker is to over-see/ support/ and assist in the assembly of kits and products and the various pieces that go together to form finished products. The lead worker must ensure that the production line has the raw materials and supplies needed to avoid a work stoppage. The production line lead worker must be able and experienced in the use of various tools and equipment, in conjunction with his hands, to assure that the production line operates efficiently. The training for and the use of manual and powered pallet lifts is required.General Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist and over-see the assembly of products and kits based on customer requirements.Assure and assist in the meeting of departmental production goals while maintaining safe work habits and product quality.Assist in maintaining an uncluttered works area.Follow procedural processes.Integral part of the production processKnowledge/SkillsAbility to deal pleasantly and courteously with supervision, management, and co-workers.Ability to perform physical activities (i.e. occasionally maybe required to carry, push, pull, or lift a minimum of 50 lbs. (Weight more than 50 lbs. must be shared with someone else or lifting equipment must be used). Must be trained and/or certified in the safe and efficient use of manual and powered pallet jacks.Ability to speak English.Good interpersonal and communicative skillsAbility to arrive to work on-time and be at your production station ready for work.Experience/EducationExperience or prior training in all department production/assembly functions.High School diploma, GED, or suitable work experience or training requiredWork EnvironmentThere may be certain job requirements where protective equipment must be utilized or worn. All PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will be furnished by the employer. Items like gloves, ear plugs, back support or eye protection devices.Two break periods; one in the morning and one in the afternoon and a 30-minute break for lunchPhysical ActivitiesStooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time.Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force to thrust forward, downward or outward.Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.Feeling: Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels or without correction.
