Key attributes include strong organizational skills, excellent customer service, multitasking ability, critical thinking, and adaptability.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesAdhere to established safety protocols including infection control and safe patient handling.Escort patients, obtain vital signs, perform EKGs, verify medications and allergies, and document medical histories and visit reasons accurately and promptly.Manage phone communications, route messages, and act as a liaison between patients and providers.Communicate test results to patients, assist with medication renewals and authorizations, and administer medications as ordered.Perform point-of-care lab testing and collect specimens for laboratory analysis.Schedule appointments, surgeries, diagnostic procedures, and admissions as directed.Complete necessary paperwork including prior authorizations and referrals efficiently.Maintain supply inventory, clean and stock exam rooms, and educate patients on electronic health record access.Assist in orienting and training new medical assistants.Demonstrate accountability, teamwork, adaptability, and maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent required.ExperiencePrevious experience in a medical clinic setting is preferred but not mandatory.Certification/LicenseAmerican Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; training provided.Mental/Physical RequirementsRequires considerable mental focus.
