Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A healthcare facility is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Staff Pharmacist to support its inpatient hospital pharmacy operations on a contract basis. This role involves working a rotating schedule between first and second shifts, ensuring seamless pharmaceutical services and patient care within the hospital environment.
Location:
- Elgin, IL
Schedule:
- Rotating first and second shifts
- First shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Second shift: 2:30 PM – 10:00 PM
- Rotating weekends
- Contract duration: 13 weeks with potential extension
Responsibilities:
- Dispense medications accurately and efficiently to inpatient units
- Provide clinical pharmaceutical support to healthcare teams
- Monitor patient medication therapies to promote safety and effectiveness
- Collaborate with nursing and medical staff regarding medication management
- Utilize Cerner electronic medical record systems to process prescriptions and document interventions
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Illinois pharmacy license
- Strong inpatient clinical pharmacy experience is highly desired
- Experience with Cerner pharmacy systems is a plus
- Ability to adapt to a rotating shift schedule and provide excellent patient care around the clock
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in a healthcare setting
